I was truly touched by our martial arts community this week.
The kids’ class was fantastic — everyone gave their best, finishing stronger and with a wonderful sense of satisfaction and self-respect for their efforts to learn.
Then, as the demo team stepped onto the floor for practice, it was inspiring to see how well their synchronized kata is coming together.
Across the dojo, the spirit of humility, focus, and shared growth was beautiful to watch. Kwonbopdo taekwondo students worked closely with GM Donato to refine their rank techniques, while Kobu Jutsu students moved in unison through their weapon katas. Those preparing for dan gradings were fully committed, supported by the keen guidance of our Blackbelts.
This energy carried into the Ju Jitsu class, and the Blackbelt session with GM Donato was the perfect culmination of the night.
It wasn’t the content of the class that struck me most—it was the presence of every single student. For that time, it felt as if the outside world didn’t exist. Everyone was fully engaged, their personal growth evident in both mind and body.
The grand finale to the week was witnessing a very mental strong determined young man achieve his 1st degree Blackbelt..
I left feeling inspired and deeply grateful to have witnessed and shared in that experience.
What a wonderful gift.🙏🙏🤩
